Happy Harvest -

Hello my crafty friends! It's been a long time.  I have to tell you, it's not feeling like fall down here on the river, we're still doing 90's.

Today, I'd like to share a card I'm entering into the Peachy Keen Challenge Anything Goes. Click HERE for all the fun.

I used stamps from PKSC-22 October 2013 stamp set.   Then I used a puncher and punched out several different colors of branches.  Added a hemp bow and a golden/copper flower charm. VIOLA!
That's it for today, short n sweet.  --C

Wicked Birthday

Oh it's finally cooling off down here on the Colorado River! I love fall, it makes me want to craft! With that said, here's a card for a good friend whose birthday is on Halloween.  I was so glad Miss Emma over at My Creative Time created the Fright Night set and it included the phrase Have a Wicked Birthday.  Get over to her site to purchase this fun set for the holiday, HERE.

Now onto my card:

As I mentioned, I used MCT Fright Night set and used the sentiment Have A Wicked Birthday and stamped it in Memento Tangelo (Orange) and used clear embossing powder.  It shows up nice and shiny.

Last year I purchased Teresa Collins Chic n Scary in the Cricut Craft Room.  They had so many fun cuts I didn't get to use them all last year.  The October 31 cut was perfect for my friends birthday.

This cut was done at 2.258 by 2.5 then I cut a circle in white for the background.  Since this card is for  a guy, I tried really hard to keep it masculine, but still ended up adding a bow.
Hope he doesn't mind LOL

I'm entering this card in MCT Designer Challenge: Birthday

Happy Fall

My, oh my, how the time has gone by since my last post.   I've been doing some crafting just haven't had the time to post.  I've had some changes in my life...IT'S ALL GOOD, and I won't bore you with all the details.
This weekend I was really feeling the heat and the humidity from our monsoon storms we've been having and I just want fall to be here already so it can cool off.  So while in my craft studio I did the Fall Dance LOL and made this card.

The sequins idea came from Nikki over at Scrappin Navy Wife and I couldn't wait to give it a try. The leaves are from MCT Stitched Leaves Dies. Click here for MCT

I first heat embossed my sentiments, these were from my stash.
I placed the dies in the arrangement I wanted and ran it through the Cuttle Bug.  Then I took a piece of scrap paper and placed it behind the front of the card and traced w/ pencil the area that needed to be covered in sequins.
I used Red, Gold, and Orange, the colors of Fall, for my leaves. I used my two sided permanent runner tape and they held really well.  After all the sequins were in place, I placed on the inside so the sequins showed through the leaves and secured it w/ tape.  Then I took white card stock cut to fit the card to cover the 'insides' so it looked finished.
To top off the card, I used light orange/peach colored sheer ribbon on the side. Viola.

That's all I have for today. Can't promise when I'll post again. Happy Crafting!  --C

You're Brilliant! MCT Designer Challenge

Today I'm sharing a set of 4 3x3 cards that were inspired over at My Creative Time.  Miss Glora is this week's designer.

When I saw this challenge I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  And although they're not "critters" these little graduation cards are going to the little critters in my life. LOL  A few of my nephews are graduating from kindergarten and grade school.  I want to send them something to tell them to keep up the great work.  And these little cards are perfect.

The light bulb is from MCT "You're Brilliant" stamp and die set.  The graduation cap is from my stash and used silver embossing so the cap would stand out against the black card stock.  And of course, the sentiment You're Brilliant

Happy Mom's Day to all of my blogging & crafty friends.  This week got away from me, I can't believe how fast it went.  Here's my second MD card inspired from this week's challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps.   Just cards, how easy is that....and for Mother's or Grandmother's.

Peachy Keen Challenge 13-19 :: Just cards :: Mother/Grandmother

For my card I used the flowers and sentiment from PKS SOTM April 2013 set.  I colored in the flowers with Prisma Colored Pencils.

Super simple and bright...You Light Up My Life    added a little sheer ribbon and bow and viola!

Mother's Day Card - PKS Connection Challenge

Today's Mother's Day Card is inspired from over at the Peachy Keen Connection May Challenge #1 - FLOWERS

For my 5x7 card I used stamps from the PKS SOTM April 2013 set.   I wanted to do something different with the jar (and if there is someone out there who's already done this I apologize if I haven't seen it).  I first stamped the jar on plain white card stock in black ink.  Then I stamped it again on translucent paper in silver ink.  I cut out the little opening on the translucent paper so that my flower stems could fit through.  Once the stems were place inside the opening I used a glue pen and glued around the white card stock edges only and adhered the translucentt paper, matching up the lines.

The daisy stems are Rick Rack ribbon - my great inspiring friend Cassandra did this and it looked fantastic, I just had to try it.  I paper pieced the center of the daisies and pop dotted them. I wrapped some hemp twine laced with silver around the jar and tied a matching heart button to the jar.  I neglected to take a picture of the inside, I simply stamped Happy Mother's Day from a stamp from my stash.

Well, that's one of two Mother's Day cards.  Not sure what I'm going to do for my second card.  But I better get started.  Mom's Day is just around the corner.  If you'd like to enter your project in the PKS Connection Challenge for your chance to win $25 Gift Certificate, click HERE for more info.
Have a great week everyone. --C

Mother's Day Gift Card Holder - PKS Challenge 13::18

First I have to tell you, I made TOP 3 over at PKS for last week's sketch challenge...click HERE to see my entry that made Top 3. It was very exciting!!!

This week.... It's all about Mom week! At least for me that is.  My first Mom project was inspired by  the Peachy Keen Challenge 13::18 3D Objects : Flowers.

THE CHALLENGE

Peachy Keen Challenge 13-18 :: 3-D Objects :: Flowers
Create the 3-Dimensional project of your choice using flowers.

I've made a gift card holder - hope this classifies as 3D - The back ground is glittered card stock, and cut with MCT Gift Card Holder die.  I stamped I Love You! from PKS SOTM January 2013 Set.  I used small half pearls to take up space on the sides of the sentiment.

The Stitched Daisies are cut from MCT Stitched Daisy Die and cut on the paper pack by Teresa Collins Tell Your Story.  I made two cuts for each daisy and off set them for dimension. I used pop dots to add some depth...after all this is a 3D challenge so why not.

In the middle of each daisy I added a face from the PKS SOTM April 2013 Set.  Added a little chalk to the cheeks and viola!  A Cutie-Patootie Gift Card Holder for Mom.

Stay tuned for more Mom's Week!  --C

Happy Birthday - PKS Sketch Challenge 13::17

Yes, another birthday just around the corner. This time for my nephew who's in the first grade.  This card actually looks like something out of a Lego Box  tee hee and he's gonna love it! At least I hope so.

This weeks challenge over at Peachy Keen is the following sketch 13::17  Click HERE for more details

With the sketch above in mind, this his how my Robot Birthday Card turned out.

The bear is cut from the Teddy Bear Parade Cartridge.  I hid the face and used the bear face from PKS SOTM January 2013 set.  The moon face is from the PKS SOTM February 2013 set, and the Happy Birthday sentiment is from PKS 187 Eye Sentiments.

I used white gelly roll pen for his eyes, then topped them off with glossy accents. A little pink chalk for his cheeks.

I found these cute screw brads that are perfect for this card.   Well, what do you think, looks like something out of a Lego box?

That's it for today, there's still some time to get into the sketch challenge, click HERE to enter.

Have a great week! --C
Psssst - update - this card just made TOP 3 over at Peachy Keen Stamps!  Whoo Hoo!

K-Notebook :: 3GJ Challenge

Today, I'm sharing a project, not a card, for my niece Kamryn.   I bought this small notebook at Joann's for a buck.  I only picked up two --now I'm going back for more.  This is super simple and if you're like me, you save all those little scraps of ribbon that weren't quite long enough for a card and can reuse them on this type of project.

All the letters are cut from MCT lower case alphabet dies.  I cut them twice using black and purple, Kamryn's favorite colors, and off set them to look like a shadow.

Then I cut ribbon appx 3 inches in length.  I used four different types of ribbon. I tied all four to every other ring, but tied them in different patterns so it looked all mixed up...for instance if I tied a solid purple first, on one ring, I'd use it last on the next ring etc. You'll know what I mean once you get going on it.  HINT: I used a pair of tweezers to help get the ribbon through the slots.  After I was finished I touched it up by trimming off some of the longer pieces of ribbon until it looked, well, Perfect! :-)

Speaking of ribbon...I'm entering this project into the 3 Girl Jam Challenge :: Anything Goes with Ribbon. I thought this project was definitely fitting for this challenge.  There's still plenty of time to enter Click HERE for more info and to enter.

That's it for now...have a great weekend.

1...2...3...FLOOR! PKS Challenge

Hello fellow crafters,
This weeks Peachy Keen Challenge is Anything Goes (my Fav!)  So when you look at the card below, you'll see I couldn't get off last weeks colors....lol I love that hot pink and lime green together. I've also been taking note of coloring techniques that my fellow crafters have been using.  This card's Prisma pencil coloring was inspired by Gigi over at The Cricut Bug you can definitely see where I learned my coloring lesson from.

This ca-ute martini glass and sentiment is from the SOTM December 2012 set.  I masted off the stamp so that I could put the 1, 2, 3, floor on separate areas of the martini glass. On the inside, I didn't take a picture, I used the sentiment "Happy 29th Birthday or there about!" **giggle**

Happy Spring - 3GJ Challenge

Oh, it's been quite a long time since I've entered a 3 Girl Jam challenge.  Here are the details for this week's challenge:

April Showers w/Ribbon
we want to see all those projects with rain, water, umbrellas....anything that makes you think of April Showers

My cute little bear is cut from the Teddy Bear Parade cartridge. I used fun bring springy paper for this card. And I paper pieced the umbrella for more effect, and pop dotted it.

I used lime green stain ribbon and some hemp twine for the MCT stitched buttons.  I made the banner for the sentiment and a little more ribbon.  All the paper on this card is from my scrap drawer...imagine that!

There is still plenty of time to enter 3GJ's April Showers w/ Ribbon Click HERE to enter.

Have a great day. --C

Happy Birthday - Peachy Challenge

Hello, Happy Monday.  I'm here today with another birthday card...you'll be seeing a lot of these, as I have quite a few of them in the upcoming month.
Today's card was inspired by the photo inspiration challenge over at Peachy Keen.  Here are the details:

PKC 13-15 :: Photo Inspiration
Create a project using the photo above as inspiration. Interpret the photo any way you'd like be it colors, texture, or whatever inspires you, but please be sure to let us in on your creative process

I went looonnng on this card for two reasons...first I have these lime green envelopes that were a perfect match for this card, and second the long legs on this little birdy just made it fitting.
The bird is from the April SOTM set.

I added a cupcake, candle, and balloon all from Jolee's Boutique collection, and a small bow on her head.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the SOTM January Set.  I hand cut a paper banner and added pop dots behind it so it looks like the banner is wavy.

There's still some time to add your photo inspiration project, click HERE.

Have a great week. See you again soon!  --C
