First Time Gypsy Card -- FLOWER POWER

Hello - Can you believe it's the last day of January already?!  My, my, how time has gone by.  This last week I bought a new toy...the Gypsy!  OMGosh! I love this little machine.  For my very first project/card a friend at work wanted me to help her design a card for her 60s themed birthday party.  This is one, of a few, different designs I'm working on.

I used the layer from the zebra key on the Create A Critter cartridge.  I fliped the second flower, and then welded the two together.  I also 'hid' the circle in the middle, I wanted a little bigger circle so I could use my Peachy Keen Face.

Well, here it is, my first gypsy made card.  Okay, so for those of you from the 60s, I know the face isn't quite like they did  it back then...my version is Flower Power of the 21st Century!

Throwback Thursday - My Creative Time

Alrighty, this is my very first entry for Throwback Thursday over at Emma's My Creative Time.  This weeks challenge was to use any cartridge you have but the theme needed to be Valentine's...how appropriate, right?! It's just around the corner!

Here are the details for this challenge:
*** This challenge is a VALENTINE'S DAY CHALLENGE! Use any cartridge of YOUR choice & just make a Valentine Card!

The mailbox and heart are cut from Doodlecharms.  I really like the twine I've been seeing on many posts, I don't have any twine yet...so I had the next best thing...wire with heart frillies on it.  I pop dotted the flag on the mail box and the Heart coming out of the mail box.  I also used my new oval stitched die from MCT

This is my entry for the challenge....I'm thinking this card just might go to my hubby for Valentine's Day.  Not sure yet....is it too girlie?  Let me know what you think, girlie or unisex, by leaving me a comment below.

Have a great weekend.  Chao for now. --C

Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge

For this week's Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge, they asked to make a card with the following, or there lack of, LOL.

Happy Nothing Day!
To Honor National Nothing Day, Our Theme This Week Is
Nothing But Your Sentiment and One Embellishment!
I know, I Know, it sounds very minimilistic but I can assure your there is NOTHING to it.
You can use layers.  This does not have to be a flat card; but remember, the edges of your layers cannot be decorative...so put away the Martha Stewarts and the Fiskars!  Embossing Folders are okay!
Please follow these rules or you will be eligible to win NOTHING!

So as you can imagine I was like DO NOTHING, WOW that's a day (challenge) for me.
Now I went a little overboard with the Do Nothing....I think my card is as simple as you can get.
And literally there is NOTHING to it! HA!

I went with a Valentine's theme....and kept it very simple, NOTHING to it!
Then I thought, that was easy and nothing to it....why not do another on a different style paper.

The card is 3 3/4 x 5 1/2.  I used a gelly roll pen to block the outer edges in black and simply used two different stamps to make the center focus. Easy, cheesy!  This easy card was inspired by MCT

And then I thought, they turned out A-Okay and decided to make a few more to give as two-card gift sets to friends since there was absolutely NOTHING TO IT.

Hope you enjoyed my National Nothing Day cards.

Lucky for me this time around, I had the Sweet Treat cartridge, which I've been using a lot lately!
Here's my entry:

And, I finally got to use my newest toy - the oval stitched die from Emma at My Creative Time.

Birthday Bouquet

My friend is turning 30 this year and I thought it'd be nice to have a center piece for her party.  Now you might think this isn't a very colorful bouquet, and then you might think, Wow! There sure is a lot of Green and Yellow in the mix.  Well, let me tell you, I have never known a bigger fan of the Green Bay Packers!  She is all about Green Bay...yes, my crafty friends, I said SHE!  So I thought what better way to bring in 30, than with a themed bouquet of her favorite team.

All the cuts are from Sweet Treats.  Of course, lots of green and yellow paper...I added some birthday open stock paper from Joann's with a green back ground...also had a pad of foiled card stock for some foiled gold and green for a little sparkle...speaking of sparkle, can never have a project without stickles! Gotta love that Glitter!
That's it for today...I have a lot if ideas popping into my head and hopefully I'll be entering them into some challenges.  Chao for now!  --C

Happy New Year 2012!

I can't believe my last post was on Christmas day. I'm actually having blogging with drawl, if you can imagine that!  And most of all Card Making with drawl.  I made a few more of the flower "thanks" cards over the weekend, but other than that, I think I'm completely famished from all the events during the holidays, especially New Years.
I wanted to share a picture of my New Years event at the Aquarius. This year's theme was a masquerade ball. What fun we had!
I wish you and yours, a very Happy, Healthy, & Prosperous  New Year 2012!
