Sending You Some Sunshine

For my project today, I'm making a card using the Sun cut from Create A Critter cartridge and entering this card into the Simply Crafts May 2012 Challenge.

I did something different on the size of card this time around that I've seen...this card size is 4.25x8.5

For my sentiment (an old one I had in my stash)...which I think is just perfect for this card...SENDING YOU SOME SUNSHINE, LAUGHTER, AND HUGS!

I have a dear friend who is very ill and just had a pace maker put in...I think this card would Cheer him up.

For the face, I used PKS Everyday Character Faces.  I filled in the eyes with black and white gel pens...then I remembered I had the enamel...so I went back over the whites of the eyes with the enamel.  Picture doesn't show the glossy very well.
I used some pink chalk and blended it in for the cheeks.  Then added some yellow stickles around the edge.

Short and sweet tonight.  Hope you enjoyed my post.  Chao for now!  --C

Mother's Day Card

In my previous post, I made a candy tote box for my mom, today I'm posting a card I made for my hubby's mom...my mother in law.  I'm very lucky to have a mother in law who is also a friend.  Not everyone can say that :-)

She's really a very simple person so I wanted to keep her card simple but let her know I put lots of LUV into making a card for her.
Card size is 5x7  I blended a little pink/peach around the edges of the card.   I used the Jasmine cartridge and my gypsy to link the letters and cut out MOM and layered it.
I used the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge for the grass. Making two layers of grass and pop dotted the second layer.  I added some ribbon on the bottom of the grass so it wasn't a 'blunt' look.

I used Emma's MCT Rolled Flower Dies for the flowers.  The leaf is from the Accent Essentials cartridge.  As for the stem, I just winged it there.

For the sentiment I used a stamp from my stash, I don't think I've ever used it before, but thought it was fitting for this card.
FRIENDS ARE THE FLOWERS IN THE GARDEN OF LIFE!
See what I mean, that sentiment is perfect.

Here's wishing all the Mom's out there a wonderful Mother's Day.

For my project, I created a tote box using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. I maxed the size for an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of card stock and ended up with a box size of 3 1/2 W, 1 1/8 D, 4 1/4 H plus the handle.

I hot glued a strand of pearly beads around the edges and the handle.

For the rolled flowers, I used MCT new Rolled Flower Die (this is my first project using the this type of die)  Click Here to see the die and a video on how to use it.

I think I did pretty good for my first try...and I'm even a lefty, which sometimes with rolling you have to compensate....LOL I added some loose beads in the center of the flowers. I used leafs from a silk flower arrangement.
For the center of the box, I used MCT Scallop and Stitched Circle Dies and used the All Around Everything stamp set Emma created to go along with these dies.

I then threaded some twine through a heart button and glued it onto the circle.  I pop dotted the scallop/stitched circle. And Viola!

I'm going to add some sugar free hard candies to the box and give to my mom for Mother's Day.  I hope you enjoyed my project for today and I hope you were inspired to make something for your mom for this coming Sunday.

Have a great day, Chao!  --C

Peachy Grad Card

Hello and welcome to my last post on Graduation cards.  This is the third card, going to my niece who will be heading off to Junior High.....and it's a Peachy Grad card.  I am entering this card into the Peachy Keen Stamps challenge.  The challenge is to make a card using your own back ground.

This card measures 5x5 inches.
For my background I used a Congratulations stamp from my stash...and Opaque embossing powder.
I stamped 2012 on the tag I cut from using Plantin Schoolbook cartridge.

For the main focus of the card I used MCT Stitched Scallop and Circle dies and used Emma's new release All Around Everything stamp set, Congrats Graduate!

And last, but not least, I used a Peachy Face from PKS with a little wink from Every Day Character stamp set.  And I finally got to use my Enamel Accents on the eye...you can't see it real well here, but it really 'shines'.

Thanks for stopping by.  Chao for now! --C
