Happy Birthday - PKS Sketch Challenge 13::17

Yes, another birthday just around the corner. This time for my nephew who's in the first grade.  This card actually looks like something out of a Lego Box  tee hee and he's gonna love it! At least I hope so.

This weeks challenge over at Peachy Keen is the following sketch 13::17  Click HERE for more details

With the sketch above in mind, this his how my Robot Birthday Card turned out.

The bear is cut from the Teddy Bear Parade Cartridge.  I hid the face and used the bear face from PKS SOTM January 2013 set.  The moon face is from the PKS SOTM February 2013 set, and the Happy Birthday sentiment is from PKS 187 Eye Sentiments.

I used white gelly roll pen for his eyes, then topped them off with glossy accents. A little pink chalk for his cheeks.

I found these cute screw brads that are perfect for this card.   Well, what do you think, looks like something out of a Lego box?

That's it for today, there's still some time to get into the sketch challenge, click HERE to enter.

Have a great week! --C

K-Notebook :: 3GJ Challenge

Today, I'm sharing a project, not a card, for my niece Kamryn.   I bought this small notebook at Joann's for a buck.  I only picked up two --now I'm going back for more.  This is super simple and if you're like me, you save all those little scraps of ribbon that weren't quite long enough for a card and can reuse them on this type of project.

All the letters are cut from MCT lower case alphabet dies.  I cut them twice using black and purple, Kamryn's favorite colors, and off set them to look like a shadow.

Then I cut ribbon appx 3 inches in length.  I used four different types of ribbon. I tied all four to every other ring, but tied them in different patterns so it looked all mixed up...for instance if I tied a solid purple first, on one ring, I'd use it last on the next ring etc. You'll know what I mean once you get going on it.  HINT: I used a pair of tweezers to help get the ribbon through the slots.  After I was finished I touched it up by trimming off some of the longer pieces of ribbon until it looked, well, Perfect! :-)

Speaking of ribbon...I'm entering this project into the 3 Girl Jam Challenge :: Anything Goes with Ribbon. I thought this project was definitely fitting for this challenge.  There's still plenty of time to enter Click HERE for more info and to enter.

That's it for now...have a great weekend.

1...2...3...FLOOR! PKS Challenge

Hello fellow crafters,
This weeks Peachy Keen Challenge is Anything Goes (my Fav!)  So when you look at the card below, you'll see I couldn't get off last weeks colors....lol I love that hot pink and lime green together. I've also been taking note of coloring techniques that my fellow crafters have been using.  This card's Prisma pencil coloring was inspired by Gigi over at The Cricut Bug you can definitely see where I learned my coloring lesson from.

This ca-ute martini glass and sentiment is from the SOTM December 2012 set.  I masted off the stamp so that I could put the 1, 2, 3, floor on separate areas of the martini glass. On the inside, I didn't take a picture, I used the sentiment "Happy 29th Birthday or there about!" **giggle**

There's still some time to enter, click HERE for all the details.

That's it for today. Have a great week! --C

Happy Spring - 3GJ Challenge

Oh, it's been quite a long time since I've entered a 3 Girl Jam challenge.  Here are the details for this week's challenge:

April Showers w/Ribbon
we want to see all those projects with rain, water, umbrellas....anything that makes you think of April Showers

My cute little bear is cut from the Teddy Bear Parade cartridge. I used fun bring springy paper for this card. And I paper pieced the umbrella for more effect, and pop dotted it.

I used lime green stain ribbon and some hemp twine for the MCT stitched buttons.  I made the banner for the sentiment and a little more ribbon.  All the paper on this card is from my scrap drawer...imagine that!

There is still plenty of time to enter 3GJ's April Showers w/ Ribbon Click HERE to enter.

Have a great day. --C

Happy Birthday - Peachy Challenge

Hello, Happy Monday.  I'm here today with another birthday card...you'll be seeing a lot of these, as I have quite a few of them in the upcoming month.
Today's card was inspired by the photo inspiration challenge over at Peachy Keen.  Here are the details:

PKC 13-15 :: Photo Inspiration
Create a project using the photo above as inspiration. Interpret the photo any way you'd like be it colors, texture, or whatever inspires you, but please be sure to let us in on your creative process

I went looonnng on this card for two reasons...first I have these lime green envelopes that were a perfect match for this card, and second the long legs on this little birdy just made it fitting.
The bird is from the April SOTM set.

I added a cupcake, candle, and balloon all from Jolee's Boutique collection, and a small bow on her head.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the SOTM January Set.  I hand cut a paper banner and added pop dots behind it so it looks like the banner is wavy.

There's still some time to add your photo inspiration project, click HERE.

Have a great week. See you again soon!  --C

Happy Birthday, Cassandra!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR CASSANDRA,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!

My dear inspiring crafty friend, Cassandra, over at Creating with Color by Cassandra, is turning another year older.

For her card, I used My Creative Time flower dies and pop dotted each layer of the flower. The polka dot paper is From Bo Bunny. The grass cut is from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. As for the stems and the leaves, I took some scraps and cut away. Viola! You can barely see here, I used the daisy flower embossing folder for the back ground.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Peachy Keen SOTM January 2013.  I also used handmade skittles; colors cranberry, sunset orange, and sunshine yellow from Carri over at DoubleClick in the center of the flowers.  These little gems look like glass, but they're light and won't weigh down your project.

I hope you have a wonderful birthday my friend!!!

You & Me...anything is possible :: Peachy Keen Challenge

It's another PKS challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps.  Here are the details for this weeks challenge:
Peachy Keen Challenge 13-14 :: Just Cards :: Siblings

Details
Create a card pertaining to siblings. You can accomplish this however you choose, as long as it's a card, and includes SOMETHING that has to do with siblings. That's it! Oh, yeah... have FUN, too!!

My card is for my WONDERFUL brother.  He and I have always been great siblings.  Over this last year we really needed each other to assist with our mom. If it wasn't for each others help, I don't know how we could of taken care of what we did.  For that, I'm very grateful and made this card for him to show him I'm Over The Moon With Gratitude!

Yea, I know, the cow jumped over the moon is corny...but that's me! Corny! The cow is cut from Create A Critter cartridge. The moon is from PKS SOTM February 2013 set.

The sentiment "Over the moon with gratitude" is also from the PKS SOTM February 2013 set.  I chose to use yellow ribbon, because yellow also means friendship.

For the inside sentiment, I used a stamp from the Fiskars Friendship stamp set "You & Me" and then used ".......anything is possible" from MCT Classy & Fabulous stamp set.  The masked off the portion that said, "With enough caffine"

I think he'll like it and know that I am OVER THE MOON WITH GRATITUDE for all that he has done.

Have a great day!

Rainbow Of Color - Thank You - MCT Designer Challenge

Me! Me! I wanna play!!!!  Yes, it's another fun MCT Designer Challenge. This challenge is hosted by Miss Cassandra over at Creating with Color by Cassandra

Here are the details:

Hello everyone! This is Cassandra and guess what?? It's my turn to host the "Designer Challenge". And of course, you know that I just HAD to make this a COLOR CHALLENGE!! The Colors of the Rainbow to be exact! All you have to do is make a project of your choice using 3 of the following 6 colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple. For a more difficult challenge - if you dare...use ALL 6 colors!!!

Here's Cassandra's card to get your creative inspiration going:

So as you can see....Cassandra's card was very inspiring for me....in fact, she has been my most inspiring friend.... she'd send me homemade Christmas Cards over the years and I just loved them...well about three years ago...I see her in person and ask her "Is that the "CRY-CUT" (that's how I pronounced it LOL) you used on this year's Christmas Card!" Well, after learning how to pronounce Cricut...I was off on a shopping spree for this wonderful cutting machine. THEN, along came the blogging...now you can see how my crafting madness has gotten to where it has
 and I love it.
THANK YOU, MY FRIEND!!!  CRAFTING KEEPS ME SANE!!!

Now onto my card for the challenge:

I used the butterfly from MCT Chunky Jar Accessories and the sentiment is from MCT More Gift Card Sentiments. I love this script Thank You - I use it a lot for my cards.
All the polka dotted paper is from Bo Bunny.

Remember in science class, they had you go out and collect insects and then you had to put them in a jar with cotton soaked with rubbing alcohol so the insects would die...then you had to 'pin' your insect to the bottom of the egg carton....ok, ok, this card isn't quite like that...but once I glued the butterflies into their straight line it reminded me of my school project.

For the last butterfly, not only did it not fit in the same row, but I felt it wanted to go rogue.
Now, this challenge just started today....and it's open for TWO WEEKS so get your COLOR ON and enter. Click HERE for the challenge and click HERE to go to Cassandra's blog.

Have a great rest of the week! --C

Hello My Friends,
I'm back today with another challenge. This week it's a Peachy Keen Challenge 13-13 3D OhBaby!

  • Design must be new
  • Design must be 3-Dimensional and have a baby theme.
  • Link up by 04/03 - 11:59 pm EST
For my entry, I decided to make a gift card holder...you can never have too many of those around. Especially when you have friends and family asking you for some LOL

My sweet baby is from the PKS stamp of the month PKSC-15 March 2013  Isn't she adorbs!  I used gelly roll pens to color in the eyes and the pacifier, then topped them off with glossy accents.  I used pink chalk for the cheeks and dotted freckles with white gelly roll pen.

For her bonnet, I cut out the one layer and pop dotted it for dimension...it made it look like her head was inside the little bonnet with some shadow at her forehead.

The gift card holder die is from MCT and the sentiment is also from MCT More Gift Card Sentiments.

There is still a little time to get your 3D OhBaby! project into the challenge. Click HERE
