It's Five O'clock Somewhere!

Friends of ours came to visit this past weekend, I think this sentiment explains how our weekend went.  So here's a little tribute to them. I made them each a card to thank them for visiting and a reminder It's Five O'clock Somewhere!

This card was inspired by the Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge: 13-7

This card is sized 5x7 on black card stock. I used the PKS background stamp PK-104 Size A2 What time is it?? in silver ink stamped on white card stock.  The purple and silver patterned paper is from Kaiser Craft Lilac Ave Collection (can't wait to use this for Easter cards)

The fun martini glass is from the PKSC December 2012 stamp set.  I used colored pencils for some color on the image.  I used, my favorite, glossy accents for the bubbles.

And last but not least, MCT stitched oval die and the sentiment, It's 5 o'clock somewhere, is a stamp from the Classy & Fabulous stamp set.

There's still a little time to join the sketch challenge, click HERE for more info and to enter.

That's it for today my crafty friends!  I have another busy weekend, and through next week...sorry I'll miss making and posting my cards...and seeing all of yours too.  Until next time... --C

Bug Me, Anytime!

Whew, I'm making this card at the very latest hour for the PKS Challenge this week,
13:6 Anything Goes

For my entry this week, I used the little worm from the Create A Critter cartridge.
I hid the face using the Cricut Craft Room, so that I could use a face from the PK-754 Critter Faces Set A Medium from Peachy Keen Stamps.  I just love the little face with the glasses. Looks like a little book worm.

I used white gelly roll pen for the eyes and topped them off with glossy accents, of course lol. I love that stuff.  Added some glitter to the dots on the body. And used colored ink pen for the mouth and nose.
For the back ground I used my cuttle bug and my really crafty friend, Cassandra, did a dry emboss with this same dotted folder, but turned it over so that the dots were in, instead of out. So I just had to try it.  If you want to see Cassandra's, click HERE and while you're there, check out the other wonderful projects she's made.

Now for the sentiment, it's from My Creative Time "My Favorite Sayings" stamp set.  And since the worm is kind of like a bug, I thought this would fit perfectly.  I'm also entering this embossed project  into the MCT Designer Challenge. Click Here for that challenge information.

That's it for today...it's going to be a busy rest of the week and weekend...doubt I'll be on here again till next week.  I wish you all a wonderful Valentine's Day and a great weekend.
See you back here real soon! --C

Thank You

Hello Monday!

This week's designer challenge over at My Creative Time, is hosted by Nikki, and she would like us to create a project using embossing, it can be dry or heat embossing or both.

I made a card using the dry embossing technique.  I used the Cuttle Bug THANKS embossing folder.

I added a strip of patterned paper, some ribbon, and a little flower.
I put my stamped sentiment on the inside.  I used "Thank You" from the MCT More Gift Card Sentiments and the "You Are The Best!" from the MCT My Favorite Sayings stamp set.

Very easy to make, so I made one in each color.

That's it for today. Have a great week! --C

Happy Boot-Day!

They're here!  Yes, Peachy Keen SOTM February stamp set finally made it to my house yesterday.
And there is still a few more hours to post for another challenge on the PKS Connection release challenge #2 - Create a Monochrome project. That is, to create using the same color, using light and dark, and/or patterns of the same color.

Here's the monochrome card I made for my nephews birthday....boot-day!

This card is really simple, well, let's face it, it's going to a young boy who will probably take the gift card out and toss the card LOL  but I keep sending them anyway :-)
I used jelly roll pen for the eyes, and topped them off with glossy accents.
And I couldn't help it, I had to add a little stardust stickles to the exhaust from his launch.
I paper pieced the robot using the different shades/patterns of blue.

That's it for today.  Hope everyone had a great weekend! --C

Happy Birthday

My niece's birthday is just around the corner...my, my, how they come back around so fast!
This cute birthday card is cut from the Sweet Treats cartridge in the 'card' format.
I'm using the candle from the PKS January 2013 set.

The PKS Connection is having a release challenge, and this challenge was to create something that has dots 'n stripes.

Here's a closer look at the sentiment and scroll.  These are also from the January set.  You can't see it real well, I also dotted the scroll work with stardust stickles.  And last but not least, I found these cute curly-Q paper clips for FIFTY CENTS and just couldn't pass them up.

That's it for today...or night...it's late, but I had this card in my head all day
and couldn't wait to make it. --C

Key To My Heart

Hello Friends,
Today I'm sharing another version of a Valentine's Treat.

I used the MCT Gift Card Holder die for my base on red textured card stock. Then cut out a square of paper that had keys and locks on it and put it on the front.

I cut the hear locket and key from the Indie Art Cartridge and tied them together with a bow using light pink sheer ribbon.  For added dimension I used a few pop dots.

The sweet treat inside, instead of a gift card, is a small Ghirardelli Chocolate. Yummy!!!
I used two sided tape to adhere the little package so it won't slide out.

Here's a side view.  I'm entering this little sweet treat into the 3 Girl Jam Challenge #11  - create a 3-D project using ribbon.  You have until the 14th to enter your project.  Click HERE for more info and to enter your 3-D project with ribbon.

That's it for today....more later. --C

Love Is In The Air

Hello My Crafty Friends,
Today I'm sharing a Valentine's card using the Photo Inspiration over at Peachy Keen.  I have to tell you, I think this is my 2nd time making a card using the colors/photo inspiration and I tell ya, I had a hard time with it...almost like the sketches.  I just seemed to have crafters block...for HOURS. :-)

First, here's the photo for the challenge 13:5 Photo Inspiration Click HERE for more details and to enter your project

As you can see I chose to use only a few of the colors. The PKS stamp set used is the January set.

Now if you're looking at this and thinking it looks a little different from the stamp...that's because it is different.  I wanted her arms to be up...so I cut them off and exchanged sides so the thumbs were up and I reattached the arms to the body of the bear.

Here's a closer look.  You can see the seams a bit.  I used jelly roll pen for the eyes and then topped them off with Glossy Accents.  A little red stickles on the heart.

Here's where Love Is In The Air -- The LOVE balloons are from the Heart Lollipop stamp, I just cut off the stem.  The twine used, I can't remember the name of it...it's from Liz's Paper Loft and was another wonderful gift in the MCT 12 Days Of Christmas box I won from Emma.

For the sentiment, just simply, Happy Valentine's Day!  It's really a super simple card even though it took me hours to get going on what I was going to do.  I think this will make a great card for Hubs...it's not all Gooshy! LOL
Don't forget there are still a few more days to enter. Click HERE

Have a great week! --C

How Much Do I Love You?

Hello Fellow Crafters!
Can you believe it's the first of February?!  Don't tell me this is a sign the year is going to go by fast and Christmas is just around the corner....yikes, I better get started on my Christmas cards LOL just kidding....but if you're like me, it sure does sneak up on you quickly.

My card for today is being entered into the 1,2,3 Challenge over at My Creative Time.  Liz, over at Liz's Paper Loft,  is this week's challenge designer.

For the challenge Liz wanted to keep things simple, you know like 1, 2, 3! So that's exactly what it is...use 1 bow, 2 pattern papers, and 3 buttons!  Click HERE for more info

Here's my entry:
ONE BOW & FIRST PATTERNED PAPER
Sorry the color in this picture isn't real good.  The bear and the sentiment are from MCT Beary Special Thoughts stamp set that the wonderful Miss Emma gave away during her 12 Day of Christmas...and I was the lucky recipient of this wonderful box of FUN! Thanks again, Emma!!!

The other bear and sentiment are also from the same set. I used Recollections heart punch for the hearts. The comment bubble is cut from the Cricut Basics in the Cricut Craft Room.

This is the inside of the first portion of the card. Now, before I explain the whole card, because it's kind of like a story book, I'll show you the pics.

 SECOND PATTERNED PAPER
On the inside of one of the other flaps is my second patterned paper.  The white label is cut from Cricut Basics in the Cricut Craft Room. The sentiment again, is from the Beary Special Thoughts. There are lots of fun sentiments in this set.

THREE BUTTONS
The other inside half of the card is using the Free Hugs! sentiment, I masked off the "s" and  the "!" so it just says Free Hug and then used MCT Label Font stamp set (also from the box of FUN) to create the word TOKENS.  Now for my 3 item on the card, I used 3 Buttons as my Free Hug Tokens.

This is the view of the center of the card. I pop dotted the left side label.  Then put the buttons down a little on the other half, it helps the card to close and not being lop sided.

Sorry, this picture is blurry...you can see how it folds up, with the first two matching, Guess How Much I Love You? then it says "This Much"
Here's the other view with the card opened into the center.
The dimension for this card, and I was just winging it when I thought of it, so you could do any size. Mine is cut at 10.5 length and 4.25 width.  I scored it at 3.5 and at 7 inches then folded it into a tri fold.  After already making this, I could have folded it a few different ways, but I think it turned out pretty good.  Easy at 1,2,3, right?!

There are still a few days to enter your Easy as 1,2,3 Guest Designer Challenge project. Click HERE for details and to enter your project.

Have a great weekend!!!  Go, Niners!!!!!
