Lady Bug Thank You

I found this really cute lady bug and heart ribbon and I just had to buy it.  A gal at work had a house warming party and I figured she'd need some thank you notes...and since she's a fan of lady bugs this was perfect.

The lady bug is cut from the Create A Critter cartridge.  I hide the face on the cut using the Cricut Craft Room, and used PKS Critter Faces Stamp Set A Medium. The Thank You stamp is from MCT More Gift Card Sentiments stamp set.

I used a white gelly roll pen to stitch around and also color in the eyes.  Then topped off the eyes with glossy accents. I love that stuff, it makes the eyes look like googley eyes :-)

Here's a closer look at the cute lady bug and heart ribbon.  I'm entering this card into TWO challenges this week.

Frist up,  Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge 13-4 Just Cards - Heart of Hearts
Make a card with hearts on it - there are a few hearts on here and my cutie patootie PKS face.  There are still a few more hours to get your card entered Click HERE for more info and to add your card.

Next challenge, Carri, over at Double Click, is a DT member over at 3 Girl Jam and the current challenge is Party & Ribbon.  Since this is the after math of a party, sending Thank You notes, I figured why not enter my card into the challenge.  There are still a few more days to enter your project.  Click HERE for more info.

Have a great week my crafty friends. --C

Valentine Candy Bear

Today I'd like to share with you my 3-D project for Peachy Keen challenge 13-3  I almost didn't have time to do this...I totally skipped the part about 3-D and almost posted something else I'd been working on....oh well, it definitely won't go to waste.

Here are some more details about this challenge:
Create a 3D object of your choice using bears. The 3D object can be anything, as long as bears are included somewhere on the project.

Here's my entry
The bear head and hands and the little hearts are from the PKS stamp of the month January 2013   I used gelly roll pens for the eyes then glazed them with glossy accents.  The bear is looking over the edge of the card....or that's how I wanted it to be.

The cutest font ever, is also from the January Set.  I use Stickles to glitter up the heart.  The label is cut from Cricut Craft Room Basics.  It's not seen real well in the picture, I also dusted the edges of the label with a light pink ink.

Now here's the fun part, CHOCOLATE inside!  I used the MCT gift card holder die. It holds this piece of chocolate perfectly!  I used a little two sided tape and it stayed secure inside the holder...that is of course, until you're ready to eat it! Then just simply pull the candy off the card holder.

I adhered the bear head to the back of the gift card holder. I used pop dots and covered just enough of the little flap with the chin of the bear, but not adhering it.  This way it gives a little when you bend it up to secure the bottom flap.  I also used pop dots for the hands and stuck them to the front flap.

I hope you enjoyed my post today and that you were inspired!
Have a great day!  --C

It's a Valentine's Happy Birthday

It's another Peachy Keen Challenge for me again this week. And it's all about my sisters Valentine's Birthday, well her bday isn't until two days later, but this paper reminds me of her.

Here are the specifics for the challenge:
Challenge 13-2 :: A Sketch

I don't know what it is about sketches, for me, it's the hardest challenge. I have NO idea why that is. But I put waaay too much thought into it. I tried doing something different THREE times...UGH, then I just had to walk away. It's like I totally had crafters block.  Who knows, but what I do know is, I couldn't get this really cute heart paper out of my head. I just had to use it.

The candle is from the December 2012 KOTM,  and the sentiment, I just love the curly-Q script is from the January 2013 KOTM both from Peachy Keen.

I cut out the candle by hand, I gave it some extra space on the edges as if it was cut from an SVG file.  I like the look it gives even if I don't have a Cameo, yet!  :-)   The candle base cardstock IS pink.

Tea Time

A really good friend introduced me to Earl Grey Tea many, many moons ago.  We would have our tea and Carrot Cake and talk about LIFE.   I haven't seen her in many years, but we still keep in touch.  I want to send her a card reminiscing about when we use to have tea and how much I enjoy her friendship.

When Carri over at DoubleClick said Dorcerela Creations was having a Red and/or Pink challenge # 29 I thought this would be the perfect time to make my friend a special card.

The stamps used for this card is a tea/coffee set I bought at Joann's and I don't even remember the name of the set. The hearts were punched with a Recollections single heart punch.  I paper pieced the tea cup and the tea bag.  (paper piecing is my newest craft love) and I used glossy accents for the steam.

I layered a few background colored card stock and viola, super easy!

That's it for now, back to the work bench for more fun!  Have a great week. --C

Cheers!

It's 2013, and 13 is my lucky number and I know it's going to be a wonderful, crafty, kind of year.

I'm so happy to share with you today a new craft I learned from my friend Miss Cassandra over at
Creating with Color by Cassandra.  I always heard of paper piecing but had never tried it.   Let me tell you, it's all about the scissors.  Cutter Bee Scissors! Now hubby can have his mustache trimming scissors back *teehee*

Ok, so normally when you think of Cheers! You think of champagne glasses clinking...but it's been SOOOOO cold, my mind has been on tea and HOT COCOA!
The cocoa mugs are from MCT Do The Cocoa Motion stamp set and the backgound paper is from EP Winter Wishes paper pad that came in the huge goodie box I won over at MCT

I paper pieced the marshmellows (yummy, my fav part!) in white card stock.  Then I stamped Peachy Keen Faces on each mug.  The face on the left is from Everyday Character Face Assortment, this is my favorite face on that set.  And the face on the right is from the Happy Lashes Assortment. Then I pop dotted both mugs. I think for my first paper piecing, it didn't turn out too bad.

The sentiment "CHEERS" is from Peachy Keen's December 2012 set.

Who Says Money Can't Buy Happiness?

I know money can't really buy you happiness, however, a little money and a craft store certainly makes my day happier!  What about you?!

A few family and friends of mine gave me craft store gift cards for Christmas. I wanted to send out a card to them letting them know how excited I was to receive their gift.

I embossed the top and bottom added some adhesive ribbon...but it still didn't look finished...I cut out flowers from the Accent Essentials cartridge added a little glitter and some bling in the center.

The sentiment comes from MCT Classy & Fabulous stamp set.

On the front of the card, I used "Who says money can't buy Happiness?

On the inside I used "They don't know which craft store to go to!"

Very fitting sentiment, right!   I made a few quick cards and Viola!

I'm entering this card in the 3 Girl Jam #9 challenge Anything Goes + Ribbon.  There are still a few more days to get your entry in.  Click HERE to enter your project.

    Have a crafty day!  --C
