I Don't Do Mornings...

Well I'm still stuck on my new Coffee Break set from MCT. I don't think I'll ever get tired of using this set.  so I decided to add it to the PKS challenge using Faux Stitching.

Now for those who know me, know I do not sew...even the Sew EZ machine I bought, wasn't SO EASY!  I'll stick with my iron and stitch-witch, thank you very much!!!

I was very happy to see the challenge was Faux Stitching, and all I had to do was hand stitch with a pen. I can do that...uh huh...well had to do some practicing with it. But I think it turned out pretty good.

I hand stitched around both the printed and solid blocks.  I used MCT latte cup from the Coffee Break set and then stamped the Grumpy Face from Everyday Characters from PKS on the cup sleeve. I colored the eyes in with a white gelly roll pen.

I also used MCT Stitched Oval Die, and stamped a sentiment from my stash of stamps, "I don't do mornings... until I've had my coffee." And added some ribbon behind it for some color.

I'm entering this 4 1/4x 4 1/4 card into the PEACHY KEEN STAMP CHALLENGE 10: JUST CARDS: FAUX STITCHING

That's it for now.  Chao! --C

We're The Perfect Blend

So I'm shopping over at Michael's a few weeks ago and I see this paper set....

....and first thing that comes to my mind is a co-worker.  She LOVES animal prints.  I just had to buy the paper, even not know exactly what I was going to make for her.  I set the paper aside and knew one day something will come to mind.

Then just last week, I received my Coffee Break set from Emma over at My Creative Time and I dug through my stash of sentiment stamps and this is what I came up with.

We're the perfect blend - that goes with coffee right?!

I thought Emma's Oval Stitched Die would work great for this card.  If you haven't decided on which dies to get from Emma, I definitely recommend the Oval Stitched Die, I have used it so much and all her stamps coordinate with it, AND I have found a lot in my old stash work well too.

Then I used Emma's dies from her new release Coffee Break and cut out two coffee cups and added two different prints - they blend - get it :0

I stamped the printed paper with the coordinating stamp from Emma's set and then cut it out along the black stamp line. I then just cut off the 'cap' portion of the stamp off and glued the printed paper onto the cup.  Very easy!

I made a 5 card set and each card is different.  I used coordinating ribbon to accent each card.

I just loved how these cards turned out.  I'm going to link them up to Emma's Link Up Par-Tea

That's it for today.  Chao for now! --C

Thanks A Latte

Yes, two posts from me in one night, WOW!
The few of my blog followers who have been following me since Christmas, will recall I had made cards sets for the office for their Christmas gifts. The main card I made was a "Thanks A Latte" card using the coffee cup sleeve from Starbucks
I need to make two card sets for two of the gals in my office who took care of things for me last month when I was on vacay.  The coffee cup sleeves keep mysteriously ending up on my desk. Could this a sign they'd like more Thanks A Latte cards, I'm thinking so.
I used my new toys from Emma over at My Creative Time,  Her coffee break set is just the greatest.  And I can't wait to make more cards using the set.
The stamp "Thanks A Latte" came from a stash I had gotten at Joann Fabric and Crafts a while back.

Die cut for the cup and the sleeve - the cup has coordinating stamp to outline the cup.  And I just love the stamp that comes with the set, Caution - Very Hot! (there's also another stamp with your choice of Tall, Grande, Venti - not shown here) I was lucky enough to have my "thanks a latte" stamp fit her sleeve die. Emma's products work great with what I have in my stash.
I pop dotted the cup, so it stood out.  Simply -Thanks A Latte!

That's all for tonight, movie time!

Sympathy Card

This is my least favorite card to make, as I'm sure many of you will agree...Sympathy.  I kept it simple. I used white on white. 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 size card, then another sheet of white just a tad bit smaller and embossed Swirls using the Cuttlebug. I stamped in Momento Rich Cocoa, "With Sympathy" and used brown ribbon.  The dove, ironically, is cut from the cartridge Tie The Knot.

Ok enough of this sad stuff...I'm on my way to start playing with my new toys I just got from Emma over at My Creative Time. Her new coffee stamp & die cut release is so much fun!

Some Bunny Loves You

This small Easter card is a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4
I used the scalloped circle from My Creative Time for the two outer circles
The middle circle is cut from Elegant Edges cartridge.
The Bunny and the Kite are cut from Create A Critter Cartrige.
The sentiment is from my stash and is on the oval die cut from My Creative Time and added a few heart buttons on both ends
I used my Gypsy to remove the bunny face so I could stamp a face from Peachy Keen Stamps

Wedding Shower Gift Basket

Hello - thank you for stopping by.  Today I'd like to share a gift basket I made for my friends brother's wife to be....you know the gal who you know, but don't really know.  I found out that their kitchen is yellow, so I started there.  Then I hit up her bridal registry at Bed Bath & Beyond and dreamed up this basket for her.

I know she loves food, but doesn't cook a whole lot, yet. With that in mind, I bought two kitchen gadgets on her list, pizza cutter and BBQ tongs.  I just had to add a little more to make it complete.  Alfredo Sauce to make a great White Pizza and Teriyaki Marinade for the Teriyaki Grilled Chicken.
Knowing she doesn't cook much, I then added two recipe cards for the white pizza and the grilled chicken teriyaki...I also added in a side dish for the chicken too.  The cards ended up being about 5 1/2x8. My friend had made her a recipe binder, so these will fit well.

She loved her basket and couldn't wait to make the White Pizza!

60's Theme Birthday Party Bouquet

Wow! It's been forever since I posted on my blog.  Believe me, it wasn't from not wanting to.  My computer crashed, family stuff happening, out of town, and catching back up at work....ugh, the life of a crafter LOL
I have however, been online and seeing ALL the great projects everyone has been doing (I'm jealous!) Sorry if I haven't commented, I was just 'peeking' to keep in touch.
Well, let me bring you up to date with what I've been doing crafty.  I finalized the design for the 60's birthday theme invite...made 50 of 'em.  And I was in such a hurry to get them all done and to my friend, before I left town, I didn't even take pictures....imagine that!
She liked the invites so much, she asked me to make a 60's theme center piece/bouquet.

I made cuts from Groovy Times and Sweet Treats all at different sizing to give the piece dimension.  Hope you like it.  Stay tuned for more...I can't wait to make cards for Spring!!!!  You all have inspired me over the last few weeks. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
